Dear Seeing Eye graduates and applicants,

We’re excited to share that we are introducing Meta glasses into our training program through a pilot program for active graduates and incoming students starting in September 2026.

About the Pilot

Through a grant from a generous donor, 250 pairs of Meta glasses will be made available throughout the pilot period beginning in September. Online learning and two-day in-person workshops will be available to active graduates. Students attending class between September 2026 and January 2027 may apply to receive online learning and in person training during class. During this time, enrolled participants who need Meta glasses may apply to receive a free pair.

For Applicants on The Seeing Eye Wait List

Applicants on the wait list who would like to receive Meta glasses training during class must express interest by July 14. Those who apply will be provided with a pair of glasses, if they do not already own a pair, and will be enrolled in a 4-course online learning module that must be completed before attending class. Proficiency in the general use of glasses must be demonstrated upon arrival for class in order to participate in in-person training.

For Active Graduates

If you are an active Seeing Eye graduate who will not be replacing your dog in the next six months, you may sign up for the free 4-course online learning module. In-person workshops will be announced at a later date. If you do not already own a pair of Meta glasses, a limited number of pairs will be available through the pilot program.

Additional Details

Students coming into class must demonstrate their proficiency with the technology through a Tech Juno Walk at the start of class. This is to ensure the safety of the team throughout class. If the student is unable to demonstrate proficiency with Meta glasses, they will not be eligible to receive AI glasses training during class but will be encouraged to participate in a workshop at a later date, once they are more proficient in the use of the technology.

If you would like to participate in the pilot, please send a message to tech@seeingeye.org or reply to this email by July 14 with the following information: your full name, phone number, and status (active graduate or waitlisted for class). A member of our instruction and training team will get back to with additional information.

Please note, due to limited quantities of glasses and space in our workshops during the pilot phase, graduates who are not waitlisted to join class during the pilot program will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
