Public Service Announcements

"Service Dog or Pet? Spot the Difference"

In October 2026, The Seeing Eye, in partnership with the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association, released a public service announcement about an issue many service dog handlers have faced: people claiming their pet dogs are service dogs. These fake service dogs, often poorly trained, can be a distraction for or interfere with legitimate service animals, and create an environment in which business owners may (illegally) attempt to deny access to all dogs, even the legitimate service dogs. This public service announcement, “Service Dog or Pet? Spot the Difference,” is available with and without audio description and at various lengths. The PSA was produced by Aggressively Compassionate of Chicago, Illinois.
