The Seeing Eye mourns the passing of Hugh D’Andrade, who served as a member of the Board of Trustees from 2000 to 2013 and then as an honorary trustee from 2013 to present.
“Through his thoughtful guidance, generous support, and a steadfast love of this cause, Hugh has made a lasting impact on the people we serve,” Seeing Eye Board of Trustees Chair Michael H. Mittelman said.
During Hugh’s tenure as a board member, he served on the Committee on Trustees, the Executive Committee, the Facilities Management Committee, the Human Resources Committee, and the Donor and Public Relations Committee. He served as chair of the Committee on Trustees and as chair of the Facilities Management Committee from 2009 to 2012, providing valuable guidance during the Main House renovation. As an honorary trustee, he continued to provide leadership and wisdom. In 2014, Hugh was recognized with The Seeing Eye’s highest honor, the Dorothy Harrison Eustis Humanitarian Award.
