Making the Decision

Making the Decision

Learn From Our Graduates

The difference The Seeing Eye makes in the lives of people who are blind can best be demonstrated by the graduates themselves … people who are living their lives – some ordinary and others not-so-ordinary – enhanced by their daily experiences with their dogs.

We strive to make constant improvements to our program, listening closely to what all our students have to say during exit interviews at the end of class and in surveys that take place several months after they return home.

You or someone you know may be in the process of deciding if a guide dog is right for you or them. We hope we can help you answer that question, but we also hope to assist you in answering this question: is The Seeing Eye the right school for you?

There are other guide dog schools in North America, but we believe there are many things that set us apart. The word that most often comes to mind is “respect.” Respect for students and graduates, respect for our peers, and respect for the distinct needs of each individual are our hallmarks.

Our students and graduates tell us that owning and working with a Seeing Eye® dog has changed their lives. They tell us about the increased safety in travel and of the loving companionship their dogs provide. The choice of a school is a personal one, and it is up to you to determine which program best suits your needs. We urge you to gather as much information as you need to make a decision that is right for you. If you cannot find the answer to your questions on this Web site, please call or email us at admissions@seeingeye.org and we will be happy to help. We look forward to meeting you!
