Forever Friends: The Passaic County Puppy Club

From first to long-time puppy raisers, the Passaic County Seeing Eye puppy club is filled with dedicated volunteers who love being a part of the thriving puppy raising community.

“It can be intimidating raising a puppy, but I’ve never been alone in any part of it,” said first-time raiser Juliana Arrabito. “From the moment I joined, everyone has been so helpful and kind.”

The Passaic County club was established in the late 80’s by Alexandra Moguillanes, who continues to tag along with her family for outings and club meetings, but has passed the leadership baton to Janet Drashinsky.

The club meets twice a month in Pompton Lakes alternating between Pompton Lakes Middle School and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. They also host demonstrations at local schools, libraries, and summer camps to help educate the public about The Seeing Eye’s mission.

Five Seeing Eye puppies, three black Labs and two yellow Labs, sit and pose before the Flag of Heros memorial during one of their recent training exposure trips to the local fire station.

“[Our club] is a dedicated family filled with long time raisers and forever friends,” explained Janet.
