Food Ordering Information

A bag of Eukanuba Puppy Pro Performance dog food. The Seeing Eye provides all food, monthly preventatives, and veterinary care for puppies in our Seeing Eye Puppy Raising program.

New puppies are placed with Royal Canin Starter food as well as a supply of monthly preventative medication (flea/tick and heartworm). A bag of Eukanuba Puppy Pro will be delivered, most likely even before the puppy arrives.

Feed the Royal Canin Starter food for three to four days, then begin weaning the puppy to the Eukanuba Puppy Pro.

The wean to Eukanuba should occur gradually over the course of seven days. Start by eliminating a small amount of the old food and adding an equal amount of the new food to each meal. Increase these amounts gradually over seven days.

If there are stool concerns at any point during the wean from Royal Canin Starter to Eukanuba Puppy Pro, please email PDMedical@seeingeye.org or call or text (973) 944-8342.

A bag of Eukanuba Premium Performance dog food. When you have about one-third of a bag of food remaining, place your order for more food by using the Food and Medication form:

Please allow two weeks for delivery.

At 11 months of age, instead of ordering another bag of Eukanuba Puppy Pro, switch to Eukanuba 26:16, and wean the puppy from Eukanuba Puppy Pro to Eukanuba Premium Performance 26:16.

If you have questions, please email PDMedical@seeingeye.org.

Monthly Preventatives

It is important that your puppy receives their preventatives each month. Please be sure to keep track of how many doses of medication you have left for your puppy — order at least two months in advance of needing medication. Please utilize the Food and Medication form to request medication for your puppy. Remember that a current weight must be given at the time of request for medications to be mailed.

All dogs that are on campus receive their monthly preventative medication on the 1st day (heartworm) and 2nd day (flea/tick) of each month.  We would like you to also have your dog on a 1st day/2nd day schedule. In order to do this, you will need to look at the date on the medical card.  Please give the dog their medication as stated on the medical card the first time that you give it to them.  Then each month, you can back up the date by two days so that eventually you will end up giving the puppy its meds on the 1st and 2nd days of the month.  If you have any questions, please be sure to contact your Area Coordinator.

Prior to requesting more medication, please be sure to use any smaller doses that you have left.  It is safe to double up the smaller doses for dogs that are over 50.1 lbs.  So, for example, if you have 5 doses of the medication for dogs that are under 50.1 lbs, you can use 4 doses to get you through 2 months before you need to request more medication. If you have any questions, please contact your Area Coordinator.
