We recently celebrated 25 years of our first official college puppy raising club!
“The Puppy Raisers of the University of Delaware (PRoUD) raisers live with their pups in approved on-campus housing, bring them to classes, attend bi-monthly meetings, and participate in exposure outings that prepare the puppies for their future jobs as guides,” explained Seeing Eye Area coordinator and founder of PRoUD, Kimberly Winnington.
“Over the past 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of watching hundreds of students nurture our puppies as they grow into confident future guides. It’s not just a volunteer opportunity. It’s a true journey for both. It’s so rewarding to see them learn, grow and graduate.”
